Student Assistant creates a “My Assignment” folder in the student's My Documents folder. All new assignment files are stored in the correct class folder for the duration of the grading period. No more “lost” homework assignments.
- Format Customization Options
The New Assignment menu includes the option to customize the selected SA template to meet specific class requirements. Standard formatting changes include font, line-spacing, title/assignment block alignment and spacing. Customized templates can be used for multiple classes.
- Simple, menu-driven options to start new chapters and sections
Menu-driven commands will insert Front Matter (Preface, Dedication, Table of Contents, etc.) and Back Matter (Reference lists, Appendices, Indexes) sections with appropriate page numbering and headers. Select from pre-defined titles or enter your own heading for each section. (Untitled sections are also an option for treatments and other short texts). Select from three styles of chapter/section titles: numbered chapter titles (Chapter One, Chapter Two, etc.), descriptive chapter titles ("The Boy Who Lived") or combination titles ("Chapter One: The Boy Who Lived"). Includes support for science lab report sections.
- Citation Assistant
lets the student enter basic reference elements, then formats and inserts literary citations and reference list entries into the manuscript automatically. Support for all major types of citations (Book, Article, Online article, Media) Select from the four major style guides (MLA, Chicago, APA, and Turabian). The reference list is created, updated and sorted automatically.
- About This Assignment Notes Utility
All homework documents include a screen that displays all information about the assignment (class, template, current word count and page count, etc.) and includes a place to store teacher instructions and other notes about the assignment. Especially helpful for long and more complex assignments and thesis and dissertations.
- DueDate Reminders!
Due date reminders are displayed every time the document is opened and on the About This Assignment Screen.
- Assignment Review and Electronic File Transfer Features.
Menu driven command options allow students to email assignments to the teacher, a school share, or up to eight designated homework “reviewers” with a single mouse click. All cover page fields and word/page counts are retained in the packaged file. On-line help topics provide step-by-step instructions for sending "a few pages," a few chapters, or the entire manuscript via email.
